Hi, I'm Karen, and like many people, I didn't appreciate my health until it was dwindling away. Psoriatic arthritis hit hard in my 40s and I lost mobility, became a bloated, painful, fatigued mess and developed gut issues. I couldn't believe how horrible my quality of life had become or what it would be like if I lived into my 80s. Meds helped but still didn't allow me to bicycle or even walk up and down steps naturally. So, I decided to do whatever it would take to help myself and I began experimenting with different nutritional approaches. I GOT BETTER!! AND BETTER!! The pain dissipated, inflammatory bloat and weight gain subsided, fogginess lifted, energy returned and I began to feel like myself again! Eventually, I joined a Beachbody accountability group so I could stream workouts at home since there was no use pretending I would go to a gym. I really needed to gain strength and muscle as I started plowing through my 50s. The Beachbody nutritional programs were sound nutritional advice but really didn't address issues like mine. When friends would ask what I did to improve, I had no way of efficiently sharing that type of plan with them. BUT NOW I DO! I'm so proud of Beachbody for bringing 4 Week Gut Protocol into the spotlight in 2022. It is PRECISELY what I do and how I live my life. I got back my QUALITY OF LIFE and will shout it and share it with anyone ready to take back their quality of life too!
I am a doctor of optometry and nutrition enthusiast. I received my professional degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and completed a primary care residency at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. I'm here to tell you that most doctors have little to no training in nutrition and have little to no time to have meaningful discussions about it with their patients. Every morsel that goes into our bodies can help us or set us back. Each cell that makes up our being is constructed from the food we eat. NUTRITION IS EVERYTHING AND YOU HAVE THE POWER TO HELP YOURSELF!! You just need the resources and the willingness to try!
